60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

December 10, 2008

I couldn’t let today go by without honoring the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a document that has impacted the world with an increased respect for human rights and a recognition of our responsibility to secure those rights for all of humanity.  Enforcing these rights has been the subject of incredible philanthropy over these 60 years, and certainly something to celebrate today.

Here‘s a great guest post in honor of the occasion with Asif Saleh, executive director of Drishtipat, a US non-profit organization committed to safeguarding human rights in Bangladesh.  And here‘s some great history about the UDHR from IntLawGrrls.  Enjoy!
