Forbes’ Indian Heroes of Philanthropy
June 24, 2011

Azim Premji
Silicon India reports on the fourth-annual Forbes Asia Heroes of Philanthropy list. The list contains four Indians out of 48 total philanthropists.
Interestingly, Forbes reports that access to education for poor children is a top priority for Indian philanthropists.
We have reported on some of these philanthropists before, especially Azim Premji. Some of you may also recall that SAPP has reported on the Forbes list in the past.
The four Indians this year are:
- Shiv Nadar of HCL Technologies
- Azim Premji of Wipro
- GMR Group founder Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao
- Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi
Congratulations to all four – what wonderful examples of South Asian philanthropy!
