Apply for This!: Three new job and fellowship announcements

December 15, 2008

“Apply for This!” is a new feature where we’ll announce jobs and fellowships that might be of interest to you:

Currently, the Deshpande Foundation is accepting applications for its Sandbox Fellowship program. This is a year-long program for dynamic professionals or post-graduate school candidates who have experience working in on-the-ground development and/or social entrepreneurship and are seeking an extended experience working on these issues. Fellows are matched according to the skills and project needs defined by each specific NGO in order to ensure a mutually beneficial experience for both parties. Contact Alex Alvanos for more information.

Resource Generation (RG), a fiscally sponsored program of Third Sector New England (mentioned here by Venu), is a multi-racial community, organizing young people with wealth to leverage financial resources and class privilege for social justice. RG is seeking an Executive Director, and the idealist.org ad is here. The deadline for applications is December 20, 2008.

CUNY’s Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society invites applications for its Emerging Leaders International Fellows Program, deadline December 29, 2008. This program provides leadership training through applied research and professional mentorships for young scholar-practitioners in the nonprofit sector. The program is open to those interested in building Third-Sector capacity in the United States and overseas. Fellows are based at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, where they design and pursue individualized research projects and participate in a seminar with Third-Sector leaders. Here’s the link with more information.
