Apply for this!: New Media Intern at the South Asian Philanthropy Project

April 6, 2010

We’re still on the hunt for one or more “new media interns” to add some new voices to our blog and think of other interesting ways to use social media to expand SAPP’s reach.  Here is a job description and some instructions on how to apply and who to contact with questions.

Here’s a summary:

The intern’s primary responsibility is to provide posts for the organization’s website approximately 3 times per week, and build relationships with other bloggers and online communities through links and comments. The intern will be encouraged to suggest new web features; propose interviews, book reviews and more; and explore other new media vehicles such as podcasts and videos. Additional responsibilities may include assistance with the implementation of SAPP goals generally. These tasks could take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours per week.

As a not-for-profit start-up, SAPP cannot offer paid positions. In lieu of paid positions, however, we can offer positions for academic credit (and are willing to work with your academic institution to do so). Additional benefits include the following: (1) getting on the ground floor of an exciting organization with a tremendous amount of potential; (2) opportunities to connect with and meet community, academic and philanthropic leaders; and (3) sharpening your writing and blogging skills.

Please spread the word!
