AIF and Wadhwani Foundation on MAST

October 13, 2010

My attention was caught by a great article I found on indiaprwire.com. The Wadhwani Foundation is partnering up with AIF (American India Foundation) to train disabled men and women from aged 18-30 through AIF’s Market-Aligned Skills Training Program.

“The joint effort aims to influence the employability of the differently-abled population in mainstream jobs in the organised sector. The integration of Wadhwani Foundation’s Opportunity Network for the Disabled (OND) initiative into AIF’s MAST program opens up demand-driven and course vetted vocational training for the disabled in short term courses of three to six months.”

In the next 5 years alone, the program aims to train over 100,000 men and women across Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Jharkhand.
