Apply for this!: PhD grants and Muslim student fellowships

Are you a PhD student studying faith and philanthropy? The Lake Institute on Faith and Giving at the Center on Philanthropy, Indiana University is offering a one-year doctoral dissertation fellowship of $22,000 for the academic year 2011-12.  The fellowship is intended to support the final year of dissertation writing and will be given to a scholar whose primary research focus is in the area of religion and philanthropy or faith and giving.  More info here.  (Hat tip to PND.)

Are you a Muslim student interested in further graduate study? The Islamic Society of North America is sponsoring a 9-month fellowship for Muslim graduate students interested in nonprofit management, philanthropy and fundraising.   Ten fellows will be selected to participate in the program. Fellows will receive an award of up to $11,000 to cover tuition costs and other expenses, and a stipend of $1,000 per month for nine months.  Participants will study at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University or other similar accredited institution of higher education and/or center of philanthropic studies, plus complete an internship and a five-day training program.  More info here.  (Hat tip to PND.)
