Jindal Foundation’s ties to Governor

March 3, 2011

Today’s New York Times has a story about the Supriya Jindal Foundation for Louisiana’s Children.

Supriya Jindal is the wife of Bobby Jindal, governor of Louisiana.

The foundation’s site states its goal to “harness the power of technology in Louisiana classrooms, to emphasize the importance of science and math, and to help develop the Louisiana workforce of tomorrow.”   The Times reports that it relies on contributions from Louisiana’s major oil companies, insurers and other corporations that have or may be vying for the governor’s support.

Seems suspect … is it a little too close for comfort, is this too much mixing and mingling of public and private?  What do you think?
