You are invited: NYU Global South Asia Conference this Saturday

February 9, 2012

Just got this invitation from NYU for all of you out there located in New York:

We wanted to reach out to you and personally invite you to the Global South Asia Conference at NYU. We are the leading conference regarding the Indian subcontinent and for the past three years have provided a platform to discuss South Asia in a unique global context. This is the fourth year of the conference and this year the theme is “Investing in the Future: Identity, Justice and Progress.” Our speakers range from academics at different universities to professionals such as our keynote speaker Meenakshi Ganguly: The South Asia Director for the Human Rights Watch.

A session that I believe would be of special interest to you is our afternoon panel with Manu Bhagavan speaking about “The Gamble for One World: Gandhi, the Nehrus and the Quest for Human Rights.” The rest of the schedule and other details can be found here. Furthermore, for the very first time, we are moving away from just speaking by wrapping up the conference with a live performance of Indian Classical Jazz music.

The conference will be held this Saturday, February 11th at 40 West 4th Street in New York. It is free and lunch will be served. It would be a delight to have you or any of your affiliates attend. You can register here.
