#Giving Tuesday is coming November 27th … and SAPP is a partner!

November 12, 2012

The South Asian Philanthropy Project is excited to partner with #Giving Tuesday!

We have a day for giving thanks (Thanksgiving). We have two days (Black Friday and Cyber Monday) for getting deals. This year, on Tuesday November 27, 2012, the “giving season” will have its “opening day” with #GivingTuesday. Charities, families, businesses and individuals are coming together to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. With its participation, SAPP encourages families, communities, companies and organizations to join in acts of giving.  Let’s share what we are doing and why it matters. Join us in this national celebration of our great tradition of generosity.

The goal is for #GivingTuesday to become a major part of the holiday season, putting giving at the forefront in November rather than an afterthought in December or the New Year. The campaign will show that the holidays can be about both giving and giving back. It will celebrate how Americans can do more with their wallets than just shop – and that we, as Americans, can “give as good as we get.”

Stay tuned for a special announcement from SAPP as we near the big day!
